Grid operator delays to connect permanent power prevented developers from energising new homes across several SEQ estates—creating project delays, increased holding costs and risk to tenancy timelines. Diesel generators were not suitable due to residential noise restrictions, high fuel costs, maintenance requirements and unreliability.

What Needed to be Powered


Between 20–55 newly constructed homes per site, staged over several months as homes became due for settlement.

Alternatives Assessed


The only alternative was to wait up to six months for permanent grid power and delay settlements, as generators are not an appropriate or reliable option for these customers.

  • Deployment of a single Powershift POWRBANK MAX battery unit across each development site, sized and scoped to meet residential load demands and tenancy timelines.
  • Connection via 32–63A of available temporary building supply to maintain continuous trickle charging and allowing uninterrupted power to up to 55 new homes from a single unit.
  • 24/7 monitoring and support by Powershift ensured the battery delivered consistent, reliable power throughout the project, giving the customer peace of mind.
