Problem We Helped Solve

Jetcharge approached Powershift looking for a sustainable temporary power solution to support the final stages of their new Kinetic Electric Bus Depot. To allow the depot to operate and be commissioned following final stages of construction, they needed a reliable, emission-free and quiet temporary power source that could bridge the gap while waiting for their delayed permanent grid connection.

What Needed to be Powered

– Electric bus wash bays and associated equipment
– Office facilities and amenities
– Internal and external lighting
– General power requirements across the depot

Alternatives Assessed

An alternative approach to this scenario would have involved a 350kVa generator.

  • Deployed a Powershift Entertainer battery with large storage capacity, capable of powering the versatile loads required while charging from a modest grid feed of 20-63A (scaled over time).
  • Enabled the site to continue construction and staged commissioning without overloading the TBS supply, keeping the rest of the depot operational.
  • Eliminated generator downtime, with batteries monitored and supported 24/7 to ensure seamless, reliable power throughout the project.

The Enertainer Series are large-scale advanced battery systems, engineered to power entire construction sites and heavy industrial plant and equipment.

Initially running on only 20A, the mobile battery unit increased to 63A as the project expanded. This capacity alone delivered extra benefits, such as cutting costs, removing the need for fuel storage, reducing emissions, and eliminating generator downtime.

No Fuel Storage Required

No fuel storage simplifies site and safety management.

Reduced Emissions

Supporting a cleaner, more sustainable site.

Generator Eliminated

Having no generator on site removed any downtime and maintenance concerns.

Significant Cost Savings

Compared to traditional generator power.
