Jetcharge worked with Powershift to power the final stages of their Kinetic Electric Bus Depot, using a mobile battery to enable staged commissioning and maintain full site operations until permanent power was connected.
The challenge
Jetcharge approached Powershift looking for a sustainable temporary power solution to support the final stages of their new Kinetic Electric Bus Depot. To allow the depot to operate and be commissioned following final stages of construction, they needed a reliable, emission-free and quiet temporary power source that could bridge the gap while waiting for their delayed permanent grid connection.
What needed to be powered
- Electric bus wash bays and equipment
- Office facilities and amenities
- Internal and external lighting
- General power across the depot
The alternative
An alternative approach to this scenario would have involved a 350kVa generator.
The solution
- Deployed a Powershift Enertainer battery with large storage capacity, capable of powering the versatile loads required while charging from a modest grid feed of 20-63A (scaled over time).
- Enabled the site to continue construction and staged commissioning without overloading the TBS, keeping the rest of the depot operational.
- Eliminated generator downtime, with batteries monitored and supported 24/7 to ensure seamless, reliable power throughout the project.
